Luseni Kargbo Kaisamba

Luseni passed away in Nov 2022.

Luseni hailed from Borbu, a small village outside of Kenema in the Eastern Province. He developed a great appreciation for education while attending the Bo School for Boys in Bo Town. He went on to attend the University of St. Petersburg in Russia and have an extensive career in London in public service, aiding the homeless.  He “retired” at an early age to return to Sierra Leone and undertake many development projects for the betterment of his family and the country. He maintained a home near Freetown where he supported and mentored many children from his extended family to get an education and find opportunities. It was there that three of our original founders, Natalie, Kaisamba, and Zainab  met each other. “Uncle Luseni”  played a significant role in forming Kaisamba and Zainab’s character.

Luseni, one of our founders, was in many ways the beginning of World Possible Sierra Leone, and for that and much more we dedicate our efforts to honoring his memory. May he rest in perfect peace.

Our Team

We are a diverse and hardworking group that shares the common goal of making a difference in students’ lives. Three of our team members grew up in Sierra Leone and experienced the benefits of using internet resources and remote hotspot devices. Samuel was exposed to the first version of RACHEL as a teenager; it became a critical component for learning that he used all the way through his graduation from Ipam University. After immigrating to the United States, Kai and Zainab have used Khan Academy to strengthen their math skills and catch up with their grade academically. Kai credits it with helping him get into the engineering at his college.

These experiences shaped why we believe strongly in the power of technology-assisted learning. With the right resources and support network, there is no limit to what any student can accomplish.
